Standoff.

As passengers begin to disembark flight PK-786, Nawaz Sharif, his entourage and a few journalists are said to remain on board.

Security officials have joined them for what are being described as ‘talks’. Sharif, apparently, is unwilling to give his passport to anyone other than an immigration official.

Deportation still seems likely, with a decision taken in the next hour or so. I am going to be out and about all day, with limited connectivity. More later, I hope…
